I would like to understand the significance of the Business roles and Techincal roles in a launchpad configuration:
Steps below are followed during the launchpad configuration:
1.Creation of transport requests by adding the "scope= CONF" at the end of the url for the all clients.
2.Registration of App using LPD_CUST transaction
We here create the launchpad role which holds the Fiori apps ,by clicking on the "New applications" button
Details filled for a launchpad role created on the LPD_CUST
Role : some Z role; Instance : TRANSACTIONAL ; Description : Any meaningful description.
To add the applications to the launchpad role created we click on "New applications" button and fill the below :
like application type,application alias,URL etc.
3.The next step is go to Launchpad Designer to create a catalog and add the tiles and give the matching
info of LPD_CUST transaction data specific to each App.
When we logon to the Launchpad Designer we get a list of catalogs on the left panel E.G :SAP_HCM_BC_EMPLOYEE_X1 , Would like to understand if these catalogs appear on the launchpad designer beacuase we add the Business roles SAP_HCM_BCR_EMPLOYEE_X1
This question is to clarify if we need to add the Roles (BCR) to the launchpad designer user to view the Business Catalogs on the launchpad designer .
Please share some information on this.
